**Canals will not fill up until Mid-May this year, please note, Bluffdale City does not control when water is let into the Canals**

 

Canals that have confirmed date:

  • Welby Jacobs will start flowing April 25th
  • Utah & Salt Lake Canal will start flowing May 1st
  • Utah Lake Distributing will begin flowing May 1st 

Who decides when water is released into the Canals for Secondary use?

The Canal Companies are solely responsible for deciding when water is released into the canals. They manage the timing and flow of water based on various operational & environmental factors.

Does the City control when the Canals are filled with water?

No, the City does not have any control over when the water is available in the Canals. All decisions regarding the Canal Water is determined by each Canal company.

Bluffdale City provides pressurized irrigation water in a few areas in the City. All other Secondary water is managed through individual communities. If you have questions or concerns regarding your Secondary water, please contact your HOA.

Secondary Water Safety

Secondary water is different from drinking water and should only be used to water yards.

Drinking or playing in secondary water can make you sick.
